Hey, Kitty!

Created in Berlin during her residency at the Akademie der Künste, this solo performance is inspired by Anne Frank’s diary and a poem written by an unknown 12-year-old girl, this solo performance intertwines stage action and film, unfolding in two directions: the live performance moves forward in time, while the film runs backward. At the heart of the piece is Kitty, a girl who discovers a pair of shoes once belonging to Anne Frank. As memories and hallucinations overwhelm her, the shoes reveal a tragic history and carry a final message: “Reap roses and do not forget me.” The work is both a tribute to Anne Frank’s unfulfilled life and a meditation on memory, survival, and the haunting legacy of those lost.
